Euclid's definitions and axioms
Followings are some of the famous definitions by Euclid.
- A point is that which has no part.
- A line is breadth less lenght.
- The end of a line are points.
- A straight line is a line which lies evenly with the points on itself.
- A surface is that which has lenght and breadth only.
- The edge of a surface are lines.
- A plane surface is a surface which lies evenly with the straight lines on itself.
Followings are some of the famous Euclid's Axioms.
- Things which are equal to the same thing are equal to one another.
- If equals are added to equals, the wholes are equal.
- If equals are substracted from the equals, the remainders are equal.
- Things which coincides with one another are equal to one another.
- The whole is greater than the part.
- Things which are double of the same thing are equal to one another.
- Things which halves of the same thing are equal to one another.
